An Invitation To Travel
How easy is it to be an expat? From this series apparently not that easy, even if the will and desire are there. Going to live in a foreign land as a result of a job transfer or for education is one thing, but how about from one’s own accord with limited finances in retirement? Time is a concept. No other species apart from humans have time, and we didn’t always have it. We had urges. These urges told us it was necessary to hunt, to draw figures on stone walls, to seek warmth when it got colder. Today urges have been replaced by time, although we still have some from our ancestors. An urge to have sex, an urge to defecate or urinate. No clock will let you know that, although it would be no great surprise that there might even be some people who time those functions...
